About Us

Originally set up in 1965 as part of an engineering based plc in 1965, the company's role was to develop automation of production processes for other companies within the group. Because of the diverse nature of the group company businesses, the challenges presented to CPR were extremely varied. CPR contended with different product sizes, materials, processes, production rates, and so on, building metal cutting machines, assembly machines and test equipment.

The potential of the new offspring was realised by the group and CPR was soon trading with other companies in the wider world outside the group. Knowledge and experience grew with each new contract. In 1969 CPR patented a Spring Disentangler / Dispenser which became widely used, especially in the lock industry, and is still sold in countries around the world. Other small parts feeders and assembly devices have followed that early invention.

The group was bought into private ownership in 1997 and soon divested itself of many of the member companies. There was a management buyout of CPR in 1999. Since then the company has continued to prosper by remaining abreast of new industry technologies. CPR is now leading the way in making standard and bespoke Infra Red Welding machines which are displacing hot plate welding and adhesive processes in many areas.

We continue to serve most manufacturing sectors, including automotive, aerospace, food and beverage, pharmaceutical devices and plastics.
